Where is my water meter?
Most water meters are fitted outside near your outside stop tap. It will be under a small metal or plastic cover in your driveway or nearby footpath. Sometimes these can be a bit further down the road.
If your meter is indoors it can usually be found under the sink or where the water supply pipe enters the property, next to your inside stop tap. Sometimes meters are in basements or cellars, also. You’ll need to check you have the right meter by matching the serial number to the one on your bill.
Occasionally, outside meters might be in shared pits, not individual ones. The covers for these can be heavy, so we don’t recommend you attempt to read them yourself. Please wait for your scheduled reading or contact us if you have concerns about your bill.
